Leonardo de Castro Pinheiro
Leonardo Pinheiro is the Executive Director of Strategy, Policy and Research at Education Above All Foundation (EAA). Prior to his experience in EAA, Leonardo was the Director of Policy and Research at the Office of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser where he was responsible for developing and leading policy and research activities that supported Her Highness Sheikha Moza in her numerous capacities.
Before moving to Qatar in 2007, Leonardo has worked as a policy analyst for the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) and as a researcher for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Regional Office in Brasilia, Brazil where he was managing large scale social research projects on youth and education with a concentration on school violence studies.
Leonardo has a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from the University of Sheffield, UK and a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from the University of Brasilia, Brazil. Leonardo is a co-author of Youth, Youths: What Unity Them, What Separate Them (UNESCO, 2006), Public Policies For/To/With Youth (UNESCO, 2005) and Youth, Violence and Social Vulnerability and Latin America: Challenge to Public Policies. (IDB, 2004) and was a lead researcher in the UNESCO/UBO Violence in School series (2000-2002).
